BRS - Baggage Reconciliation System
The BRS-XP baggage reconciliation system is a computer-assisted security procedure. It makes sure that a bag is only loaded onto an aircraft if the passenger it belongs to is actually on board or if a special procedure (for rush baggage) has been performed. Fraport first introduced a baggage reconciliation system in 1992 (in response to the tightening of security after the bombing attack on Pan Am flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland in 1988). The original system was replaced with BRS-XP in 2006.
